THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE I.A.O.
The General Assembly of the IAO, which constitutes the supreme body, is made up of two-member parliamentary delegations from the parliaments which are participating in the movement, decreed by the presidia of the parliaments of each country. It meets once a year in predesignated cities, in countries which are members of the I.A.O. Up to this day, Assemblies have convened in the following cities, with the following main subjects:
1993 - Founding- Ormylia, Chalkidiki , Greece . Main subject: "Orthodoxy in the new European Reality".
1994-1st- Athens , Greece . Main subject: "The Interparliamentary Committee of Orthodox Members of Parliaments of the European Countries and its mission in the new European reality".
1995 -2nd- Moscow , Russia . Main subject: "The Cultural and Enlightenment Tradition of Orthodoxy".
1996-3th- Sofia , Bulgaria . Main subject: "The Social Dimension of Orthodoxy."
1997-4th- Chalkidiki, Greece . Main subject: "Orthodoxy in the context of the European civilization- history and future".
1998-5th- Warsaw , Poland . Main subject: "The problems of the novel heresies (sects) in the E.I.A.O. countries and effective ways of dealing with them".
1999-6th- Moscow - St.Petersburg. Main subject: "Ways of legal protection of the traditional family as a diachronic value of society".
2000-7th- Jerusalem , Israel . Main subject: "What do people say about the Son of Man (Mat. 16, 13 ) in the year 2000 AD?".
2001-8th- Patmos , Greece . Main subject: "The contribution of the Orthodox conception in the expanded European Union".
2002-9th- Bucharest , Romania . Main subject: "Globalization and Orthodoxy».
2003-10 th - Vilnius , Lithuania . Main subject: "War-Poverty. The Orthodox viewpoint".
2004- 11th - Kiev , Ukraine . Main subject: " Security with freedom ".
2005- 12 th - Geneva , Switzerland . Main subject:
